City of Detroit secures $1.67 million in funding to enhance “Connect” AV Shuttle Service

Anticipated to debut in the latter part of summer, the Connect project is a cooperative effort involving the City, Bedrock, Michigan Central, and the State Office of Future Mobility and Electrification. The City has obtained $1.67 million in MDOT funding to improve the upcoming self-driving shuttle service, which will run entirely on electric power and will be free for passengers. The extra MDOT funding will be utilized to incorporate a 5th shuttle, decrease peak-hour wait times to approximately 10 minutes, and prolong the service for another year. Read more
