Detroit launches new, free electric vehicle shuttle service

(CBS DETROIT) - Detroit's free autonomous shuttle service, "The Connect," operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. It runs from Corktown through downtown Detroit to the East Jefferson Riverfront and back, with 16 stops. The service features wheelchair-accessible Ford E Transit vehicles and aims to achieve a zero-emission public transportation system. The 10.8-mile route provides stops every 10-15 minutes, and the goal of this pilot program is to set a new standard for sustainable urban mobility in Detroit. Read more
